Installed as the favorite, if Itauma is successful, he will become the second-youngest heavyweight champion since Mike Tyson. Here’s how he might stack up with the rest of the titleholders if he’s crowned champ.

WBC champion Agit Kabayel (27-0, 19 KOs)

Agit Kabayel was already the WBC interim heavyweight titleholder, patiently waiting for a crack at Oleksandr Usyk. But when Usyk vacated his titles, it elevated Kabayel to full status WBC champ. A possible Kabayel-Itauma tilt might be the most intriguing fight the glamour division could produce.

The mega bout would pit two undefeated surgeons against each other to see who can operate his way to the top of the division. Can a body snatcher like Kabayel hurt Itauma behind unrelenting pressure? Or would the German fighter fall victim to Itauma’s deep bag of sweet science skills, especially his hand speed, feints and bursts? These questions and more would be answered if this fight gets booked, ensuring one 0 would have to go.

WBO champion Daniel Dubois (23-3, 22 KOs)

As a teenager, Itauma engaged in sparring sessions with Daniel Dubois. The fact that Dubois defeated Fabio Wardley, Itauma’s stablemate, to become the WBO world heavyweight champion in May would only heap interest onto a possible ‘Dynamite’-Itauma tilt.

Now, Dubois and Wardley are headed toward a rematch. If Dubois can emerge victorious, putting Itauma against him would highlight two dangerous, explosive punchers in a must-see collision. Can the electric Itauma withstand the heavy hands of a Dubois who touts nearly a perfect knockout ratio? As precise and plotting of a puncher that Itauma is, the answer might very well be yes, though we'd find out for sure if they clash.

WBA champion Murat Gassiev (34-2, 27 KOs)

Methodical in the way he stalks forward and breaks opponents down, Murat Gassiev brings a bulldozing style of his own to the glamour division. Plus, like Dubois, Gassiev has the experience of clashing with Usyk, but at cruiserweight. At 32, the Russian would present the young lion Itauma with another rigid veteran test, though he isn't as dangerous as Dubois or Kabayel.

If Moses Itauma can snatch the IBF title in style tomorrow night, I’m compelled to say the 21-year-old sensation clashing with Agit Kabayel would offer the most intrigue as it would be nothing short of a high-level chess match.

Then again, an Itauma-Dubois affair would be downright explosive. It’s a win-win for the heavyweight division and boxing overall.

For either to take shape, the early culmination — and coronation — must be served by Itauma tomorrow night first.
