Moses Itauma fell to the first loss of his professional career in dramatic circumstances on Saturday night, after running out of gas against Filip Hrgovic.
The Briton burned his IBF heavyweight title chance after eight dominant rounds, seemingly hitting a wall, allowing his foe to exploit his exhaustion.
Plenty will be said over the coming months over what Moses could have done differently against Hrgovic - but ultimately, it is a learning curve to take.
By contrast, his opponent has finally achieved his own dream at the summit of the sport - and is already lining up plans for his next move in the division.

Quick out of the traps and on top for eight rounds, the Briton will be left to rue his missed opportunity after he appeared to punch himself out of the fight.
Moses was taken to hospital in the aftermath, but posted on social media on Sunday that he will bounce back stronger after suffering his shock reverse.
That will not be in the shape of another title shot quite yet, however, with Queensberry Promotions likely to find him another durable veteran to face next.
Such an opponent could potentially help the star regulate those championship rounds. Undercard faces Guido Vianello or Nelson Hysa could be options.

The Croatian's success came in no small part thanks to his relentless spirit and a chin seemingly made of stainless steel - but harder tests may await now.
That isn't strictly exclusive to the ring, either. As the new IBF heavyweight champion, Hrgovic already has a mandatory challenger in Frank Sanchez to face.
The former isn't keen on that, however, calling out Agit Kabayel and Daniel Dubois - the latter the lone man to defeat him - for unification contests already.
Yet given Sanchez stepped aside from his top spot with the IBF to allow Moses-Hrgovic to have the belt on the line, the Cuban will surely have a say too.
