The heavyweights take centre stage tonight live on DAZN in Moscow as Murat Gassiev defends the WBA championship against late replacement Peter Kadiru.
Originally, Gassiev was set to face Tony Yoka. But Yoka pulled out of the fight on Friday due to a back injury. On Monday, it was announced that Kadiru would step up to the plate and accept the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Gassiev (33-2, 26 KOs) won the regular WBA belt in his last time out with a sixth-round knockout over Kubrat Pulev in December. He got elevated to full champion status after Oleksandr Usyk relinquished all his heavyweight titles.
Kadiru (23-1, 13 KOs) just competed on May 15, winning a decision over Senad Gashi.
