'The Piranha' has continued to go from strength to strength at super-featherweight, racking up an impressive number of results in recent years.

2024 wins over Liam Dillon and Archie Sharp teed up a crack at the EBU title the following March, where he defeated Salvador Jimenez.

Then, a July win over Reece Bellotti earned him Lonsdale Belt honours, before he saw off Cristian Bielma earlier this year to secure his homecoming.

Three years older than his rival, and with a couple of reverses on his belt, the Italian is nevertheless a slippery operator for Garner to match.

Having defended a junior strap in 2023 against Nike Theran, Magnesi subsequently lost it to Masanori Rikiishi the following March afterwards.

Since then, wins over Kevin Trana, Khalil El Hadri and Marcos Gabriel Martinez have rebuilt his reputation in the ring ahead of this encounter.
