Williamson subjects promoter Shalom to brutal rant ahead of Simpson rematch

If there is one man Troy Williamson will hate more than Callum Simpson, it's Boxxer promoter Ben Shalom.
After drawn-out negotiations, Williamson will finally face Callum Simpson in a super middleweight rematch on Saturday night, live on DAZN.
Williamson won the first encounter back in December by stoppage in the tenth round, and knocked down Simpson four times in that particular session.
Simpson went on to activate a rematch clause, but for one reason or another it has taken eight months to arrange.
Williamson blames Shalom and Boxxer for rematch delay
In the eyes of Williamson, Simpson's promoter Shalom is to blame for the chaos surrounding the rematch.
Speaking to DAZN News' Eze Obasi, Williamson launched into a rant about Shalom and stated that he would never work with him again.
"Ben Shalom talks so much s—t," Shalom said. "We’re only here today because they couldn't make the July date, so they had to pay me more money, otherwise there was no fight.
"That’s a him problem, I’ve not spoke to him, I don’t want to speak to him, I won’t speak to him.
"I think he was up there waiting to shake my hand, but I didn’t clock eyes with him."
Williamson has enjoyed a career resurgence since losing to Jahi Tucker in April last year.
His stoppage win against Mark Dickinson last September before beating Simpson three months later has shown that Williamson is a real contender at 168lbs.
However, this delay surrounding Saturday's rematch in Williamson's eyes has stalled his career when it comes to mounting a charge towards a world title, and has even seen him lose the European super middleweight title, which he won in the first fight against Simpson.
