Fortnite returns to the Esports World Cup this week as 40 of the world's best duos battle to become the inaugural Reload Elite Series champions.
The Fortnite Reload Elite Series Championship takes place from August 19-22, bringing a faster and more chaotic version of Fortnite to the final week of EWC 26.
Unlike traditional Battle Royale, Reload allows eliminated players to return to the action while their teammate remains alive, while the storm closes faster to force duos into more frequent fights.
That should create an unpredictable battle for the title, with former Fortnite World Cup champion Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf and star duo Peter "Peterbot" Kata and Miguel "Pollo" Moreno among the biggest names competing.

Who are the favourites to win Fortnite at Esports World Cup 2026?

Peterbot and Pollo will be one of the duos to beat when the action gets underway.
The Team Falcons stars have established themselves among the leading players in North American Fortnite and famously won the 2024 FNCS Global Championship together.
Their partnership also gives Falcons another opportunity to collect valuable Club Championship points during the final week of EWC 26.
Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf provides another of the tournament's headline names.
Bugha became one of esports' most recognisable stars when he won the inaugural Fortnite World Cup in 2019 and will now attempt to add an EWC title to his résumé alongside teammate Braydz.
Shane "EpikWhale" Cotton and PXMP provide another experienced pairing, while several of Fortnite's emerging stars will be hoping to upset the established names.
Among them are REJECT's tomat and Mofu. The Japanese duo are both just 14 years old but arrive in Paris after winning their regional qualifier and topping the official Asia Reload Elite Series leaderboard with 366 points and two Victory Royales.
Europe will also have several major contenders, including AG.AL's Nikolaj "Sky" Helleskov and Adrian "Scroll" Richelieu and Team Vitality duo Albert "PabloWingu" Nyeborg and Tino "Tjino" Shah.
Fortnite Esports World Cup 2026 schedule
The Fortnite Reload Elite Series Championship takes place from August 19-22, 2026.
The competition begins with the group stage on Wednesday, August 19 and Thursday, August 20 before the field is reduced ahead of the latter stages.
The Survival Stage follows on Friday, August 21, with the remaining duos battling for places in the final.
The Fortnite Reload Elite Series champion will then be crowned on Saturday, August 22.
