Eight teams from the Eastern and Western Conferences make it into the postseason with a chance to capture the Stanley Cup. Each team has around 15 games left in the regular season, which ends on April 16. So, there isn't much time left to go.
Currently, the Panthers are on the outside looking in. Right now, the Panthers (31-29-3, 65pts) sit 12 points out of the eighth and final spot held by the New York Islanders (32-21-10, 74pts). And the Oilers (33-26-9, 75pts) are in the seventh position and are safe for now.
In the West, there are seven teams within eight points of the eighth-seeded Seattle Kraken.
