Arsenal vs. Coventry City player ratings: Premier League champions roll in opener

Arsenal opened their Premier League title defence in ruthless fashion, dismantling newly-promoted Coventry City 3–0 at Emirates Stadium.

Christos Tzolis orchestrated the first-half destruction from the left flank, his pressing and delivery directly contributing to goals from Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka before Martin Ødegaard added a third early in the second half.

Coventry, returning to the top flight after 25 years, managed just one shot on target across 90 minutes as the champions controlled every phase of play.

DAZN News rates each set of players and our player of the match:

Arsenal vs. Coventry City Player of the Match

Christos Tzolis (Arsenal)

Tzolis was the driving force behind Arsenal's dominant first-half display, his relentless activity on the left flank creating both opening goals.

His pressing forced Van Ewijk into the error that led to Calafiori's assist for Havertz, and his byline cross eight minutes later was parried by Rushworth directly into Saka's path.

The Greek winger's pace and directness caused constant problems for Coventry's right side throughout his 76 minutes on the pitch.

A commanding performance that set the tone for Arsenal's title defence.
