Champions League Round of 16: Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Manchester City first leg moved to Budapest

A day after announcing a venue change for an upcoming Champions League round of 16 fixture, UEFA has added a second match to be played on neutral ground.

On Monday, the confederation announced that Borussia Monchengladbach vs. Manchester City's first leg will take place at Puskas Arena in Budapest. It's the same stadium that will host the first leg of RB Leipzig vs. Liverpool on Feb. 16, with both matches having to be moved due to new coronavirus regulations in Germany.

The German government has placed a ban on travel from countries with a large number of new COVID-19 variants, including the United Kingdom. That forced Leipzig and Monchengladbach to move their home matches to the Hungarian capital, as they face British opposition.

"UEFA can confirm that the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg match between Borussia VfL 1900 Mönchengladbach and Manchester City FC will now take place at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest," a statement on the confederation's website read. "The date of the match (24 February 2021) and kick-off time (21:00 CET) will remain the same.

"UEFA would like to thank Borussia VfL 1900 Mönchengladbach and Manchester City FC for their close cooperation and support, as well as the Hungarian Football Federation for their assistance and agreeing to host the match in question."

City and 'Gladbach are scheduled to play the second leg March 16 in Manchester.
