Scotland fans are counting down the hours before a whole generation gets to experience something that the country hasn't felt in nearly 40 years, because the Scots are back and the World Cup needs to be ready.
The Tartan Army open their campaign against Haiti on Saturday, in what will be their first World Cup since France 1998, when Craig Brown's team exited the group stage with a 3-0 defeat to Morocco.
Ironically, they'll play the Africans again in their final group game of 2026, along with Brazil, who they met in the opening game 38 years ago, games that came either side of a clash with Norway and the last Scotland World Cup goal.
So, who will the likes of Lawrence Shankland, Scott McTominay and John McGinn be looking to follow when they step onto the pitch in Dallas?
Well, for Scottish fans it's a moment imprinted on their brains for the past three decades as they've awaited a follow-up to the last goal scored at a finals, which was netted by Craig Burley.
Burley made his name at Chelsea, and was a regular fixture in the early Premier League era, winning the FA Cup with the Blues in 1997 before moving to Celtic.
Known for his industrious midfield displays and a smile which was missing his two front teeth - thanks to a training ground clash with Chelsea - it was Burley who equalised for Scotland against Norway in Bordeaux as he latched on to a Kevin Gallacher through ball.
The 1-1 gave Brown's team hope they could still make the second round, but the subsequent defeat meant Burley's goal stands as the last Scottish World Cup goal - hopefully until this weekend.
