England are currently undergoing their final preparations for their Euro 2024 quarter-final against Switzerland as they look to end 58 years of hurt in Germany this month.

Gareth Southgate’s men have put in a series of underwhelming displays at the tournament so far, scoring just two goals in the group stage before needing an stoppage-time equaliser from Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane extra-time winner to get past Slovakia in the last-16.

Switzerland are likely to present the Three Lions with their toughest test so far this summer, but with the talent at their disposal and their place in the easier half of the draw, England are still one of the bookies’ favourites.

And should the team find some momentum and finally get their hands on some silverware in Berlin on July 14, former Manchester United and Republic of Ireland captain Roy Keane has joked that he would not be able to stomach it.

“When we do the TV we have to praise Manchester City – if a team wins something you have to give them credit,' he said on Sky Bet’s The Overlap.

“I’d be immigrating obviously if they win it – probably Melbourne, Sydney!”

Keane’s former Old Trafford teammate Gary Neville admitted that he would have a very different reaction.

“I would get emotional – I’ve never cried at a football match. I’d cry if England win the tournament,” said the former Three Lions right-back.

Keane also addressed England's poor form in Germany, claiming that results matter far more than performances in tournament football.

"People should stop complaining about the performances from England because they are still in the tournament and that’s the most important thing," he added

"Imagine if you were playing well and got knocked out of the tournament, then the reaction would be worse. England have brilliant attacking players who have got the team out of jail and that’s what I thought would happen before the tournament.

"It’s been a while since the last time you thought England were playing well on a consistent basis, but that struggle is fine when you’ve got match-winning players in your side. If England get to the semi-final or final playing ugly, no one will complain about it."
