Sesko credits Man Utd for fast start against Brentford as Red Devils close in on Champions League

The home side struck in the 11th minute thanks to a Casemiro header before Benjamin Sesko scored his team's second of the game moments before halftime, putting the Bees in a hole they could not climb out of despite a late goal from Mathias Jensen.

Sesko, whose 43rd minute goal was his 10th in the Premier League this season, knew that Brentford would give his side a tough test after losing just once in their previous 10 matches, making the victory even sweeter.

"It feels amazing," the Red Devils forward told Sky Sports. "It was tough because we knew we faced a difficult team but we managed to hold the score until the end and we deserved the victory."

The 22-year-old stressed the importance of Man United's quick start, which unbalanced the visitors and put them on the back foot for most of the match.

"It's very important the way we start the game," he said. "It gives the crowd extra energy and we used it."

The result puts Man United on 61 points in the Premier League after 34 games, and they need to collect just two more points from their remaining four fixtures to secure qualification for next season's Champions League.

For Sesko, the team's return to the continental tournament is a must, and he backs his side to do what's needed.

"We have to push until the last minute," Sesko said. "It's important to bring the energy we brought today and we believe we can manage it."
