Ange Postecoglou will be sacked if Tottenham Hotspur are eliminated from the Europa League this week by Eintracht Frankfurt, according to William Gallas.

Spurs travel to Germany for the second leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday, with the teams even on aggregate following last week's 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The North London club battled back from an early deficit to secure the draw, but now they must find a result at Deutsche Bank Park in order to advance in the competition.

A loss would see Tottenham miss out on the only possibility of a trophy this season as the beleaguered club are 15th in the Premier League and did not find any success in the Carabao Cup or FA Cup.

With Spurs continuing to fall down the table as the season nears its end, the question of Postecoglou's job security is one that is being asked more frequently. Gallas, who spent three seasons with Tottenham towards the end of a near 20-year career, believes an elimination from the Europa League this week would be the final straw for the club's current manager.

"If Tottenham are knocked out by Frankfurt, Ange Postecoglou will be sacked," Gallas told Slingo. "Maybe not right away, he may finish the season, but if he doesn't qualify I think they will part ways in the summer.

"Postecoglou has tried to find his best XI and get his team to perform, what he did at the beginning of last season was incredible. His tactics and style of football is incredible, but you can't do it every game. The opponents now know how Tottenham play and Postecoglou doesn't have a plan B. It makes them predictable."
