NBA legend Steve Nash sends inspirational message to Canada ahead of World Cup game vs. Switzerland

Perhaps the biggest game in the history of Canada's men's soccer team takes place on Wednesday when they take on Switzerland in their final group-stage game in Vancouver. Ahead of this moment, the team received an inspirational message from one of their greatest sporting legends.
Canada head coach Jesse Marsch said at his Tuesday press conference that he's asked notable Canadiens to send video messages. Marsch reached out to NBA Hall of Famer Steve Nash, who sent one that focused primarily on “the combination of tension and freedom.”
“The tension is about the discipline and the focus and the concentration to stick to the plan and to know what makes us who we are and what we are,” Marsch said about Nash's message. “And the freedom was to go out and play and believe in ourselves and to go after the game and always show confidence and self-belief.”
After watching the message and reflecting on it, Marsch loved the emphasis of the message and what it stands for.
“It was a very thoughtful message, and a very thoughtful video,” Marsch said. “And I think it hit the nail on the head with our team. I want them to understand exactly what their roles are and understand what the match plan is, why the match plan is important, and how it will help us gain an advantage in the match.”
The stakes in the Switzerland game are significant.
A win or a draw gives them the top spot in Group B which would guarantee they stay right in Vancouver for the Round of 32. However, a loss would knock them into second place and would likely see them matchup with the second-place team in Group A, which is looking like it will be South Korea in Los Angeles.
