Kyle Fletcher ready to continue blistering run after AEW All In 2025 disappointment

Kyle Fletcher was looking forward to the 2025 edition as he was set to take on Adam Cole for the TNT title. It was the match that, at least on paper, would have put Fletcher on the map. However, it all came crashing down on July 12, 2025, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. On the day of the show, it was announced that Cole would be off the show with an undisclosed injury that he still hasn't returned from and had to vacate the belt. Fletcher stayed on the card and competed in a four-way, losing the match won by Dustin Rhodes. 

A lot has happened in the last 13 months for the 27-year-old as he looks forward to defending the AEW International Title this Sunday against Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita in one of the most highly anticipated matches at All In. 

"It means a lot," Fletcher told DAZN News. "I thought that last year, the way I treated it, it was like this is by far the biggest moment of my life. This is by far the biggest match of my career. So to have it taken away was very hard, but it's very rewarding to see how much has happened in that year, to see how much further along I feel. In that year, so much has happened. And it's been very hard for me to look at the big picture because I'm so focused on the now and the here and the exactly what I've got to do now. But it's nice to now be able to take a step back and look at the difference between not just last year, because the first Wembley, I was wrestling the first match on the pre-show as Aussie Open against Adam Cole and MJF.

"And to look at the difference in matches and wrestler and everything between then and now, it's really rewarding. It's rewarding to see how far things have come and how different my life looks because my life's pretty awesome."

Between last year's All In and this year's show, Fletcher has risen to the main event scene in AEW and being recognized as one of the best workers in professional wrestling. "The Protostar" has held the TNT strap on two occasions, the Trios titles, and currently the International titlist.

For the Australian, the icing on the cake was headlining his first pay-per-view at September's All Out when he had one of the best matches in 2025 in a losing effort to then AEW World Heavyweight Champion Adam "Hangman" Page. That was the proving ground that showed Fletcher can rise from a middle-of-the-card guy to a legitimate main event talent. 

"At the time, it felt like the biggest match of my career, the biggest match of my life," Fletcher explained. "So I put so much pressure on myself. I knew that it had to be great. It was very rewarding for it to go as well as it did. It was my first kind of opportunity at the main event, the first pay-per-view main event singles match that I've ever had. I think I smashed it out of the park and just proved that that's where I deserve to be and where I will inevitably end up."

With the world watching and the lights shining the brightest in one of the world's most iconic venues, Fletcher vows to show everyone what he's all about when he steps through the ropes and stands across a wrestling legend in Okada and one of the rising stars in Takeshita.

"I will retain it firstly because I trust that Okada will do what's best for the (Don Callis) family," Fletcher exclaimed. "He will help me retain the title. If that is not the case, I have absolute, a hundred percent belief in my own abilities. I am at the top of my game. I'm in the best shape of my life, the most locked in mentally I've ever been. I truly believe that I am and will be one of the greatest wrestlers in the world, and All In is the biggest match of my life. I am not going in there to lose. I'm going in there to win and to keep defining my own legacy. I will become the greatest International Champion of all time, and Wembley Stadium is just the next stop."
