AEW Collision results: Willow Nightingale survives title test ahead of Mercedes Moné showdown

With her huge showdown against Mercedes Moné at Wembley Stadium now just eight days away, Nightingale put the belt on the line against TBS Champion Maya World in Reading, Pennsylvania.

World pushed the champion throughout the main event and came agonisingly close to securing a major upset, but Nightingale eventually caught her challenger in a backslide to secure the three-count and retain her title.

It means Nightingale can now turn her full attention towards Moné and their Women's World Championship clash at All In.

Elsewhere, the Continental Challenge Cup field was cut to four, while another match was confirmed for this week's Dynamite in Glasgow.

Willow Nightingale retains before Mercedes Moné showdown

Nightingale had already promised World the first opportunity at her Women's World Championship despite having Moné waiting for her at Wembley.

The TBS Champion ensured Nightingale had to work for her victory.

World repeatedly threatened to take the title, including with a bridging fallaway slam and several late pinning combinations.

Nightingale ultimately found the answer, trapping World in a backslide for the three-count to successfully retain the championship.

The result confirms Nightingale will walk into Wembley as champion when she defends against Moné at All In.

After the match, Nightingale made it clear where her attention now lies, sending another message to her upcoming challenger.

Moxley vs Castagnoli set for Glasgow

The Continental Challenge Cup also moved another step closer to its conclusion.

Claudio Castagnoli defeated fellow Death Riders member Daniel Garcia by submission to book his place in the semi-finals.

Kyle O'Reilly also advanced after forcing Orange Cassidy to submit in their quarter-final encounter.

A blind draw subsequently produced two semi-finals for Dynamite in Glasgow.

Castagnoli will face fellow Death Rider Jon Moxley, while O'Reilly takes on Nigel McGuinness.

The winners will advance to the Continental Challenge Cup final at All In.

Swerve Strickland vs Jack Perry confirmed

Swerve Strickland and "Jungle" Jack Perry will also meet when Dynamite heads to Glasgow.

Perry challenged the former AEW World Champion to the match after responding to Strickland's recent comments about whether he was ready to compete alongside AEW's biggest names.

The pair will now go one-on-one in Scotland as the final build towards All In continues.

Tommaso Ciampa and Nick Wayne pick up the win

Tommaso Ciampa and Nick Wayne also gained momentum ahead of the Casino Gauntlet at Wembley.

The pair defeated Komander and "Speedball" Mike Bailey after Wayne hit Komander with the Prodigy Plex for the pinfall.

There was little harmony between the winners afterwards, however, with Ciampa shoving Wayne to the mat as tensions threatened to boil over.
