AEW Redemption 2026 results: Kenny Omega retains title as Will Ospreay turns on the Death Riders

Omega overcame TNT Champion Kevin Knight in a thrilling world title contest before surviving a post-match assault from the Death Riders, only for Ospreay to finally break away from Jon Moxley and his faction in dramatic fashion.

Elsewhere, Willow Nightingale captured the AEW Women's World Championship, Maya World became the new TBS Champion, Andrade El Ídolo won his first AEW championship, and hometown favourite "Speedball" Mike Bailey secured a future AEW International Championship opportunity in front of his Montreal fans.

Kenny Omega survives Kevin Knight to retain the AEW World Championship

The main event saw Omega make the first pay-per-view defence of his second AEW World Championship reign against TNT Champion Kevin Knight.

Knight showed little respect for the champion before the opening bell, attacking Omega during the introductions and making it clear he intended to leave Montreal with both championships.

The challenger enjoyed long spells of control, repeatedly targeting Omega's knee while using his athleticism to frustrate the champion. Omega gradually fought back with his trademark Snap Dragons and V-Triggers, but Knight refused to stay down, surviving several of the champion's biggest attacks.

Knight came agonisingly close to pulling off one of the biggest upsets in AEW history after striking Omega with Crash Landing onto the TNT Championship belt while the referee was distracted, only for Omega to somehow kick out.

The momentum swung back and forth during the closing stages before Omega finally connected with the One-Winged Angel to end Knight's spirited challenge and successfully retain the AEW World Championship.

Will Ospreay finally turns on the Death Riders

While Omega retained his title, the defining moment of Redemption came after the final bell.

Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia stormed the ring to assault the exhausted champion before attempting to recreate one of the Death Riders' most disturbing attacks.

Will Ospreay arrived seemingly torn between his loyalty to Moxley and his own conscience as Moxley handed him a plastic bag and demanded he finish the job.

Instead, Ospreay ripped the bag apart before flooring Moxley with a punch and clearing the ring, fighting off the rest of the Death Riders as the Montreal crowd erupted.

With the faction retreating through the crowd, Ospreay helped Omega back to his feet and officially confirmed that the pair would meet for the AEW World Championship at All In: London.

However, just as the two appeared to show each other mutual respect, Omega shocked the arena by dropping Ospreay with a devastating One-Winged Angel, standing tall alongside The Young Bucks as Redemption came to a close.

Willow Nightingale wins the AEW Women's World Championship

Willow Nightingale completed one of the biggest victories of her AEW career by dethroning Thekla to become the new AEW Women's World Champion.

The contest was filled with drama as Thekla relentlessly targeted Willow's previously injured ear, while Skye Blue briefly attempted to influence the outcome from ringside.

Willow overcame every obstacle before countering Thekla into a match-winning cradle to capture the championship.

Mercedes Moné watched the action from the crowd throughout the match before it was confirmed that she will challenge Nightingale for the AEW Women's World Championship at All In: London.

Three more championships change hands

Redemption proved to be a night of major title changes elsewhere on the card.

Maya World celebrated her birthday in perfect fashion by defeating Hikaru Shida to become the new TBS Champion after an exhausting back-and-forth encounter.

Andrade El Ídolo also captured his first AEW championship by defeating Mark Davis to win the AEW National Championship after surviving the champion's physical offence before connecting with El Día de los Muertos and The DM for the victory.

Earlier in the evening, Mike Bailey delighted his hometown crowd by winning the spectacular six-way ladder match to become the number one contender for Kyle Fletcher's AEW International Championship. Bailey later confirmed he will challenge Fletcher at Grand Slam Mexico on August 5 after Fletcher successfully defended his title against Bandido.

Other notable results

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage retained the AEW World Tag Team Championships against PAC and Claudio Castagnoli before immediately finding themselves confronted by The Young Bucks, setting up a blockbuster title clash at All In: London.

The Young Bucks had earlier defeated Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay in one of the night's standout tag team matches, while Chris Jericho's Painmaker persona survived a brutal No Holds Barred encounter with Tommaso Ciampa.

Elsewhere, David Finlay and Clark Connors defeated Jay White and Juice Robinson in a violent Double Chain Match, while Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong retained the AEW World Trios Championships during the Buy-In.
