That means a $1000 bet on the pound-for-pound rankings ruler would land you just $100 (plus your one-grand stake back, of course) if he indeed takes the American's title for the full set. Meanwhile, Plant has been labeled the underdog at +600, so a $100 wager on him to win outright can net you $600 plus stake return if he finds a way to shock the world.

It's hard to find great value in an Alvarez victory because it's hard to see anyone stopping him at this moment in time. Plant coming second best in an ill-advised scuffle with the Mexican at September's initial press conference between the two made it even more difficult to envision him coming out on top between the ropes, too. However not only is he unbeaten but he usually favours a very solid and conservative style in his bouts.

So, if he is able to keep his cool and avoid a spectacular shot like the one which finished Billy Joe Saunders in May, he certainly has enough about him to avoid being finished by Canelo. And as it stood at time of publish, you could at least make 225 dollars from a 100 dollar stake if you backed Alvarez to take it over 12 as he did when taking Callum Smith's '0' just under a year ago.
