Deontay Wilder remained silent on purpose says Bob Arum

Bob Arum has accused Deontay Wilder of avoiding difficult questions. The former WBC champion sat silently at the press conference to announce his third fight with Tyson Fury on July 24th, and Arum believes it was done deliberately.

Fury’s American promoter, a man who can lay claim to seeing many things in boxing, insists that Wilder’s unorthodox approach was to rule out the possibility of him facing intrusion regarding the reasons why he thinks he lost to Fury in February 2020.

"What can he say?” Asked Arum when speaking to Sky Sports. “After shooting his mouth off and throwing his trainer under a bus. Everybody knows Mark Breland is one of the nicest people in the world.

"He didn't say Breland trained him wrong which fighters always say. Wilder was silent – but what else can he say? He said Breland doped his water so he couldn't perform! That is insanity.

Arum continued, "He said the referee Kenny Bayless was drunk! Insanity. The gloves that Fury had were somehow not correct! Crazy. The gloves don't go to anybody except the commission, they are locked up. They are put on, with all the cameras there, in the dressing room.

"So, what is he talking about? If I said something like that, I'd also put headphones on so nobody could ask me questions about it."
