Warren issues statement after Reeves hospitalised on O'Leary-Chamberlain undercard

Irish boxer Lee Reeves is in hospital after he was knocked out by Gary Cully at Dublin's 3Arena.

The two super lightweights clashed on the undercard of Pierce O'Leary's fight with Mark Chamberlain, and it was a contest which ebbed and flowed.

Cully managed to knock out Reeves with 52 seconds remaining in the 10th and final round, but concerns were raised when the latter stayed on the canvas for an extended period whilst being seen to by medical staff.

Reeves received oxygen and left the arena on a stretcher before being taken to hospital.

Warren releases statement on Reeves

Following Saturday night's fight card, promoter Frank Warren issued a statement on Reeves, confirming that he is still in hospital and is remaining in contact with Reeves and his team.

"All our thoughts and prayers are with Lee Reeves and his family at this time as he remains in hospital," the statement read.

"Everyone at Queensberry is thinking of him and we're in constant contact with his team regarding his condition as we hope for positive news."

Cully also voiced his cocerns for Reeves when he spoke after his win.

"My prayers and thoughts are with Lee Reeves, hopefully he's okay," Cully said.

"He came in there as a big underdog after fighting relatively at a lower level up until now.

"But he really showed that he can operate at a higher level. Huge credit to him."
