Ex-Roach rival backs star for title triumph against Zepeda

Lamont Roach Jr. must not dwell on the past if he is to come out on top against William Zepeda, believes Jamel Herring.
The former pair meet in a battle for the vacant WBC lightweight title this evening in Las Vegas, live on DAZN and TNT.
Roach Jr. arrives on the back of two tough draws, while Zepeda suffered a maiden career reverse to Shakur Stevenson.
But ex-WBO junior-lightweight champion Herring, the only man to beat Roach, believes he can hold his nerve this time.

"Roach has a good chance to win, as long as he doesn't dwell on his past two fights," the 40-year-old told The Ring.
"He has to be sharp, with a new sense of purpose in the ring. It's not going to be easy, but Roach can come out victorious.
"It's definitely going to be a good one. Lamont has to box, counterpunch and start faster than against Davis and Cruz.
"He can't sit back and think he'll get Zepeda tired. If you sit back and fight at Lamont's pace, he's going to pick you apart."
