Liverpool's Odel Kamara turns pro and Tony Bellew reveals how far he thinks the young star can go

Odel Kamara has resisted the lure of the 2028 Olympics and will now turn professional with Sam Jones guiding his career.
One of Liverpool’s brightest amateur prospects, Kamara, who impressed at the World Championships in his home city last year, was faced with a huge decision with the Olympics still over two years away.

Since winning bronze at the Worlds, Kamara has been courted by some of boxing’s biggest names, but it is Jones who won the race to advise the talented 22-year-old with further news to follow on who will promote him.
Kamara is expected to make his professional debut sometime in the coming months and his professional journey looks one worth following.
“This kid is going to do it all and I’m so excited to be part of his team and career,” said Jones when speaking to DAZN News.
“Honestly, the talent this lad possesses and his ambition to succeed will take him all the way to the top. I’m convinced.
“Liverpool has had so many great fighters and champions and I’m so confident that Odel Kamara can be next in line.”
Tony Bellew, Liverpool’s former cruiserweight world champion, has admired Kamara since he was a young fighter, regularly obtaining honours for the renowned Salisbury ABC. Like Jones, he also believes Kamara can go far.
“He’s exciting and he’s someone I’ve known about for a very long time,” said Bellew.
“He’s a good lad with a great family around him and I can tell you that he lives the required life to be a success in this hard sport.
“As long as he’s taken slowly and there’s no rushing as he has time on his side, I believe he has the quality and the attitude to become world champion.”
