Ryan Garcia says Gervonta Davis has 'all the talent in the world but he's still a clown'
Although boxing is on a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, it hasn't prevented the fighters from taking aim at future opponents.
And that's certainly the case for Ryan Garcia, as he has placed Gervonta Davis squarely into his crosshairs.
In a recent episode of DAZN's "Off The Canvas" series that focuses on what took place after Ryan Garcia's scintillating first-round knockout of Francisco Fonseca in February, the 21-year-old had some choice words for his rival.
Immediately after the fight, Garcia is shown celebrating in his locker room as friends, family and a number of celebrities surround him. Bernard Hopkins issues a warning to the 135-pound division that Garcia's time is coming and coins him as the "Young GOAT."
The party shifts to a mansion in Los Angeles where a post-fight party is in full swing. Amidst all of the partying, Garcia gives a look into his crystal ball and offers a three-fight plan for 2020 that ends with him squaring off against his nemesis.
"I'm going to shock the world, beat Linares, beat Luke Campbell and then I'm going to go after Gervonta Davis," Garcia said. "In December for Christmas. I'm going to give myself a Christmas present."
Shortly after, the entire mansion explodes in unison with "F— Gervonta Davis!"
Although that timeline is certainly disrupted by COVID-19, the rivalry has continued to bubble on social media with the two fighters taking shots at one another.
A potential showdown between the two young talents would certainly be huge for the sport considering that there is real animosity between the two.
"He has all the talent in the world, but he's still a clown," Garcia says at the end of the video. "It's going to cost him when we fight. All that undisciplined s— is going to cost him when we fight.
"If he ain't thinking about me now, he better start. Even if he does, I've been thinking about him since I was 17-years-old and there's no f—ing way he's going to get me. I've been thinking about this motherf—er for a while. I want you."
