Tyson Fury puts Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and the rest of the heavyweight division on notice
The "Big 3" in the heavyweight division are WBC titlist Tyson Fury, unified champion Anthony Joshua and former WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder.
Fury stopped Wilder in February to claim the WBC crown, and Joshua regained the IBF, WBA (Super) and WBO belts from Andy Ruiz Jr. back in December. As things stand, Fury and Wilder are contractually obligated for a trilogy bout that the former's promoter, Bob Arum, has stated is tentatively set for December, pending if fans will be allowed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that's put a halt to having an audience inside venues. Joshua is scheduled to face mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev later in the fall, but no official date is in the books.
Whenever those two battles occur, if Fury and Joshua win, then the British stars are set to meet in a two-fight series to determine an undisputed heavyweight champion. Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) sent a stern message to Wilder and Joshua to let them know he hasn't forgotten about them amidst everything going on with the coronavirus.
"I'm coming for Wilder first, then I'm going to come for Joshua," Fury told The Daily Star.
Fury didn't stop with Wilder and Joshua. "The Gypsy King" let the rest of the heavyweight division know that once he's done with WIlder and Joshua, then he's coming to clean things out.
"Then I'm gonna come for whoever else wants the smoke," Fury said. "You're all getting annihilated, every single one of you. Ain't no stopping us now. Anyone who does will get smashed to bits, terminated, plowed over like a stone in the road. I'm getting better with age, like a fine wine."
