Joseph "JoJo" Diaz Jr. fought for the first time this year when he took on Jesus "Ricky" Perez.
The former junior lightweight champion won his last bout against Jerry Perez back in the summer of last year, and a win would have put him in the frame for another title shot, this time at super lightweight.
However it was Perez who emerged victorious, winning by split decision.
