Chelsea have identified Zubimendi as Fernandez replacement, but how much will Arsenal midfielder cost?

According to reports, the West London club are not casting their gaze very far for a potential replacement, as Arsenal's Martin Zubimendi has jumped to the top of the list.

To make matters more interesting, Arsenal are said to be open to such a transfer after landing former Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes in a big-money deal earlier this month. The Gunners' midfield logjam has suddenly made Zubimendi more disposable, but that doesn't mean the Premier League champions would let him go for cheap.

Arsenal bought the 27-year-old from Real Sociedad a year ago for £60 million, and it appears as though they intend to make a profit if they decide to move him on to a London rival. According to TeamTalk, the Gunners won't let Zubimendi go for less than £77 million, much of which will presumably go right back into player acquisitions with the window still open.

Of course, any talk of Zubimendi's move from the Emirates to Stamford Bridge hinges on a Fernandez deal going through, with Man City's new manager (and Chelsea's old manager) Enzo Maresca eager to reunite with his former player. Chelsea have slapped a £120m price tag on the Argentine, and ESPN reports that the Blues have set a deadline for Friday at 5pm UK time for any club wishing to acquire him.

In other words, we should find out very soon if Fernandez and Zubimendi will be changing clubs.
