Vancouver T100 2026 preview: Favourites, start time and how to watch

The professional women's race at the Vancouver T100 takes place on Saturday, August 15.

The race will start and finish at Locarno Beach, with the professional course consisting of a 2km swim, 80km bike and 18km run.

The swim takes place off Locarno Beach before the athletes tackle the bike and run sections around Vancouver.

What time does the Vancouver T100 2026 start?

The professional women's race is scheduled to begin at 11:05am local time in Vancouver on Saturday.

That is 7:05pm BST in the UK, with the broadcast beginning five minutes earlier at 11am local time.

Who are the favourites for the Vancouver T100 2026?

There is no shortage of contenders in Vancouver, with eight of the current top 10 in the T100 standings included on the start list.

Georgia Taylor-Brown will be among the names to watch after producing a superb performance to win the Spain T100 in Pamplona in May.

The British Olympic champion defeated Julie Derron to secure her first victory over the T100 distance and heads to Canada sitting second in the standings despite having only one scoring result so far.

Taylor-Brown has also continued to compete on the World Triathlon Championship Series since her victory in Spain, recording top-10 finishes in Alghero, Quiberon and London.

However, Imogen Simmonds arrives in Vancouver at the top of the T100 standings.

The Swiss athlete has accumulated 42 points from the opening two women's races of the season, including a podium finish at the Gold Coast T100.

Simmonds is joined by fellow Swiss contenders Alanis Siffert and Julie Derron.

Siffert has enjoyed an impressive run of form since finishing fifth in Spain, while Derron was runner-up in Vancouver last year and has already demonstrated that the course suits her strengths.

Another major threat comes in the form of reigning T100 world champion Kate Waugh.

The British star returns to T100 competition in Vancouver as the current No.1 in the PTO World Rankings and is seeded first across the swim, bike and run disciplines among the athletes on the official start list.

Waugh's presence adds another dimension to an already strong field as she begins her push towards defending her world title later in the season.

Meanwhile, Paula Findlay will be hoping to give the home crowd something to celebrate.

The Canadian arrives in Vancouver after winning on her full-distance IRONMAN debut at Lake Placid in July and now returns to the shorter T100 format on home soil.

Findlay is one of 20 athletes on the official start list, which also includes Taylor Spivey, Sara Pérez Sala, Ellie Salthouse, Hannah Berry and Nicole Van der Kaay.
