The world’s leading middle-distance triathletes head to Nice this weekend for the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, with two star-studded professional races set to decide the men’s and women’s world titles.
The championship takes place on September 12-13 on the French Riviera, with the women racing on Saturday before the men take centre stage on Sunday.

Who is racing in the men's IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship?

The men’s field features a number of former world champions and some of the biggest names in long-distance triathlon.
Jelle Geens heads the start list, with Norwegian Olympic champion Kristian Blummenfelt among his biggest challengers.
Blummenfelt is joined by compatriots Casper Stornes and former IRONMAN 70.3 world champion Gustav Iden, giving Norway a formidable presence in Nice.
Belgium’s Marten Van Riel is another major contender, while Sam Long and Lionel Sanders add further star power to the field.

Great Britain’s Kat Matthews will also be among the leading contenders, while France has a major home hope in Marjolaine Pierré.
Swiss star Julie Derron, Canada’s Paula Findlay and Germany’s Lena Meißner are also part of an exceptionally deep women’s field.
