IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun results: Laura Philipp wins again as Lasse Nygaard Priester breaks course record

Laura Philipp continued her superb run of form with victory at IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun, while Lasse Nygaard Priester produced a course-record performance to complete a German double in Austria.
The final regular-season stop of the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series before the World Championship races saw two dominant performances, with Philipp following up her recent IRONMAN Kalmar victory and Priester claiming his first Pro Series win.
Philipp crossed the line in 4:13:22, more than five minutes clear of Austria's Lisa Perterer, while Priester finished in 3:43:29 to beat two-time IRONMAN 70.3 world champion Jelle Geens.

Laura Philipp continues winning run
Philipp arrived in Zell am See just two weeks after a dominant victory at IRONMAN Kalmar and quickly showed that her strong late-season form had carried into Austria.
The German emerged from the swim in 26:34, just four seconds behind Perterer, before taking control of the race on the bike.
Philipp completed the 90km bike leg in 2:21:32 and entered the second transition with an advantage of around two minutes over her Austrian rival.
That gap only increased on the run.
The reigning IRONMAN world champion completed the half marathon in 1:20:48, the fastest women's run split of the day, to secure another commanding victory in 4:13:22.
Perterer finished second in 4:18:38, while Britain's India Lee produced a strong run to take the final podium position in 4:26:52.
The victory also earned Philipp 2,500 IRONMAN Pro Series points and moved her into the overall lead in the women's standings.
Lasse Nygaard Priester breaks course record
The men's race developed into a battle between Priester and Geens after a tightly contested opening swim.
Austria's Tjebbe Kaindl was first out of the water, but Priester and Geens were among a large lead group and soon moved to the front during the bike leg.
Priester produced a 2:05:28 bike split, with Geens just two seconds slower, meaning the pair began the half marathon virtually together.
Geens initially stayed with the German, but Priester gradually increased the pace before opening a decisive gap during the second half of the run.
A 1:10:58 run split carried Priester to the finish in 3:43:29, beating Fabian Kraft's 2025 winning time of 3:44:31 and setting a new course record.
Geens finished 2:30 behind in 3:45:59, while home favourite Kaindl completed the podium in 3:48:22.

What's next in the IRONMAN Pro Series?
Zell am See-Kaprun was the final regular-season IRONMAN Pro Series event before the World Championship portion of the calendar.
The series now heads to Nice for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, with the women's race taking place on September 12 and the men's event following on September 13.
The IRONMAN World Championship in Kona will then bring the 2026 Pro Series season towards its conclusion in October.
