Denzel Bentley has admitted he would love to face Chris Eubank Jr. in his first title defence as WBO middleweight champion.
'2Sharp' was promoted from interim status to the full crown this past month after Janibek Alimkhanuly opted to vacate the belt.
No decision has yet been made on whether the star will face likely mandatory challenger Yoenli Hernandez for his next bout.
But if Bentley can make it, the star hopes for Eubank, who has not fought since last November's rematch loss to Conor Benn.
"I’d love the Chris Eubank Jr. fight first," he addressed talkSPORT. "That’s a domestic dustup. Not many people know Hernandez.
"I wasn’t really aware of Hernandez myself until I won this title. I have looked at him. He is a quality fighter [and] most Cubans are.
"But I’d like the Chris Eubank Jr. fight if that’s possible. If he’s still competing at middleweight, then that is the fight I want.
"He’s someone that’s always spoken about wanting to be a world champion, and this would be his chance to become one.”
