Talks for Chris Eubank Jr to finally take on Conor Benn are continuing and Liam Smith willl be a keen observer when the first bell eventually sounds.
The pair were set to lock horns last year but an adverse finding in Benn’s drug test forced the fight to be postponed. It’s highly likely the pair will renew hostilities either this year or next.
Liam Smith is fully aware of what it takes to share the ring with Eubank Jr after partaking in two memorable battles with the Brighton man.
Smith was successful against Eubank Jr when they met in January, but Eubank Jr was able to get revenge in September. The Liverpool man has had his say on a potential Eubank Jr vs. Benn battle.
“Before I boxed him, I thought Chris would be too big for Conor, but since I’ve boxed him, my win has obviously gave Conor much more confidence than he had beforehand,” said Smith when speaking to Boxing Social.
“I’m quite interested in it. I feel Chris should win, size wise. Conor’s in good shape, but he’s small. Anyone who can still make welterweight is small. Chris should win, but boxing is boxing.”
