Johnny Fisher insists he will not look past relative unknown Michael Pirotton when he makes his Zuffa debut this September.
'The Romford Bull' is bidding to expand his heavyweight profile following his departure from Matchroom after a mixed tenure.
Having lost his duology rematch to Dave Allen last year, Fisher has sought to rebuild some momentum among the ranks since.
But despite plans being mooted for bigger tests down the line, the star stresses he will not dismiss Pirotton as a threat to him.
"Listen, your next fight is always the most important fight,” he told Sky Sports News. “I’ve got a man in front of me with ambition.
"So, I’ve got to be super fit, super focused, and one thing is for sure – in Tony Sims’s gym, I’ll definitely be both of them things."
Fisher parted ways with his long-term trainer Mark Tibbs last summer in favour of a link-up with the well-respected Sims instead.
Since then, he has fought once, scoring a stoppage in back-and-forth fashion against Ivan Baláž in Monte Carlo last December.
Dave Allen famously urged Johnny Fisher not to pursue a rematch after the latter scored a controversial victory against him.
It proved to be a problem for 'The Romford Bull' though, with the latter dropped and stopped in the pair's second encounter.
Now, Fisher is seeking a path back towards contention at the top of the domestic heavyweight division under a new banner.
Yet it will be fascinating to see, after a relatively lean period, if he can put the lessons of Tony Sims to further good use too.
Do so, and he may well banish those demons suffered in his only loss to date for good when he takes on Michael Pirotton.
