Terence Crawford blasts Errol Spence Jr.: 'Take off them panties, let's sign the contract'
For those who believe Terence Crawford hasn’t fought that marquee name to cement his fighting legacy yet, the WBO welterweight champion has just the boxer in mind to help him fill that void: Errol Spence Jr.
While speaking with TMZ Sports, Crawford essentially said he’s tired of waiting on the IBF champion for a title unification bout and proceeded to call him out some more.
“Take off them panties and pull your pants up, and let's sign the contract,” Crawford said.
Crawford said Spence’s camp has been full of “excuses after excuses after excuses” ever since he moved up to 147 pounds and snatched the WBO title. He alluded to “The Truth” being afraid of losing for the first time in what would be a showdown between undefeated champs.
"I honestly believe when it comes to him,” Crawford said, “deep down in his heart, he knows what he's up against when he goes up against me."
Crawford and Spence have traded verbal jabs and had their fair share of run-ins in the past, including this colorful exchange backstage during a Maurice Hooker fight last year.
Crawford didn’t let the opportunity slide to jab Spence over his nail-biting split-decision win over Shawn Porter two weeks ago.
"It was a close fight. Don't get me wrong,” Crawford told TMZ Sports. “I wouldn't say it was a big-time robbery. But, it was a close fight and if I had to give anybody the victory, I think Shawn deserved it."
If 2020 is going to be the year we see Crawford vs. Spence, Top Rank's Bob Arum and PBC's Al Haymon will likely have to thaw their frigid relationship first before the match can be made.
