Who are the men's favourites for IRONMAN 70.3 Boise?

Few competitors race with more aggression than Sam Long (USA), and with valuable Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series points on the line, the American has every reason to push the pace in search of a statement victory on home soil.

Matt Hanson (USA) also arrives in Boise firmly in contention. Sitting fifth in the IRONMAN Pro Series standings on 10,814 points, Hanson has once again showcased the consistency that has made him one of the circuit's most reliable performers and will be aiming to strengthen his position in the championship race.

The men's field is packed with quality elsewhere. Olympian Vincent Luis (FRA) brings world-class pedigree, while Justin Metzler (USA), Ari Klau (USA) – winner of IRONMAN 70.3 Mont-Tremblant – Brock Hoel (CAN), currently inside the top 10 of the Pro Series standings, Jackson Laundry (CAN) and experienced Australian Cameron Wurf (AUS) all have the ability to challenge for the podium.

Who are the women's favourites for IRONMAN 70.3 Boise?

New Zealand's Hannah Berry headlines the women's race wearing bib number one. Currently fifth in the Experience Oman IRONMAN Pro Series standings with 9,734 points, Berry has enjoyed another consistent campaign and arrives in Idaho with the opportunity to close the gap on the athletes above her.

American Grace Alexander has emerged as one of the breakthrough performers of the 2026 season after claiming victories at IRONMAN 70.3 Gulf Coast and IRONMAN 70.3 Chattanooga. Fellow American Lydia Russell has also impressed with two runner-up finishes over the 70.3 distance this year, while Olympian Kirsten Kasper possesses one of the strongest swim backgrounds in the professional field.

Also expected to feature prominently are Chelsea Sodaro (USA), Rebecca Clarke (NZL), Hanne De Vet (BEL) and Lisa Becharas (USA), giving the women's race all the ingredients for a compelling contest from the opening swim to the finish line in downtown Boise.
