The 2026 season started in New Zealand at the beginning of March and runs through to October, finishing in Hawaii, with every men's and women's race across the 16 events live on DAZN. Highlights and full replays of every race will also be available to watch on-demand.
What is Ironman?
Ironman is the ultimate test of human endurance, pitting athletes in one of the most challenging one-day endurance events on the planet.
The long-distance triathlon series is a 140.6-mile (226.3 km) test of physical and mental fortitude.
Each race is broken up into a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride, and 26.2-mile run.

How does Ironman Pro Series work
The Ironman Pro Series consists of 16 events in 2026, featuring men's and women's races, running from March to October with venues across the globe. Events are either full 140.6-mile races or half at 70.3 miles.
Races are not just about winning but about how quickly you complete each race, with points offered for every second, regardless of where athletes finish. Quite literally, every second counts.
Winners of full IRONMAN events earn 5,000 points, while IRONMAN 70.3 winners earn 2,500 points. World Championship events offer higher points, with 6,000 on offer for full, and 3,000 for 70.3.
However, intrigue is added as points decrease by 1 point per second behind the winner until a 'points floor' is reached.
As an example, the winner of a race will receive 5,000. Then, if a competitor finishes 10 seconds after the winner, they will earn 5,490 points, even if they were actually the 50th finisher.
In terms of ranking, only an athlete's best five results count towards their final standing, with a maximum of three full-distance IRONMAN events allowed.

Ironman Pro prize money
Total prize money in 2026 is $6million (£4.5million), with 66 individual event prize pots available and a huge year-end bonus pool.
Each of the 16 races offers a combined $2,450,000 in prize purses, with payouts based on athlete placement.
Athletes also battle for a share of a $1.7 million year-end bonus pool. Here, the Top 10 athletes in each gender split $1.3 million, with both the top-ranked male and female earning $200,000 each, second place getting $130,000 each, and third $85,000.
An additional $400,000 is distributed among athletes ranked 11th through 50th in each gender, rewarding depth and consistency all season
Who to look out for in Ironman Pro Series 2026
The series attracts the absolute best in the sport, with plenty of stars to look out for.
Norway's Kristian Blummenfelt is the 2025 Men's Pro Series Champion after impressive victories in Texas, Frankfurt, and the 70.3 Aix-en-Provence last year. That added to his 2020 Triathlon Olympic Gold medal.
Fierce rival Jelle Geens, Belgium, will be looking to outdo Blummenfelt this year. New Zealanders Hayden Wilde - Olympic silver medallist in Paris 2024 - and Kyle Smith, plus France's Pierre Le Corre, will also be expected to challenge this season.
Britain's Kat Matthews aims to make it three Women's Pro Series titles in a row after winning in 2024 and 2025. She got off to the perfect start in 2026 with victory in the opening race in New Zealand.
Expect Canada's Tamara Jewett and Grace Thek, Australia, to push Matthews all the way this season.
